About

Hi there, I am Sylvanus Barnabas the author and owner of My Green Advocacy. I seek to enhance the protection of the rights of minority and indigenous peoples. I also enhance environmental advocacy and information by promoting sustainable development, greener living and clamouring for environmental justice. I do this through publication of articles, videos, providing green updates and sign-posting visitors to other helpful green websites. I am a lawyer, consultant and researcher. My research interests include: the law and policy  on energy securityclimate changebiodiversitysustainable development and environmental justice. I hold a Masters Degree in Environmental Law and Policy (with Distinction) from the University of Kent at Canterbury United Kingdom. I am also an Associate Counsel in a firm of Barristers and Solicitors (Pitchers and Courts) with head office in Abuja, Nigeria.

I am currently a PhD candidate with Northumbria University where I am researching in the broad area of international human rights law particularly the rights of indigenous peoples. Specifically, am interested in researching the nexus, impact and inter-play between the international regime on the rights of indigenous and minority peoples viz-a-viz the domestic laws of States. Am looking at the land rights of tribal, natives, minority and indigenous peoples. My international climate change law research paper entitled: A Review of the Application of the Principle of Common but Differentiated Responsibility under the International Regime on Climate Change is available on the working paper series of the Social Science Research Network (SSRN) database.
